Report on Ordinance No. 9 of 1899.
I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled "An Ordinance to amend the law relating to Solicitors of the Supreme Court."
and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's Instructions.
Objects and Reasons
The first twenty sections of this Ordinance, as will be seen from the marginal notes thereto, correspond with the principles of certain Acts of Parliament relating to solicitor's costs, which are now in force in England but have not hitherto been extended to Hongkong.
Section 21 provides for the payment by solicitors of
